Patricia A. Chavez

Patricia A. Chavez, 72, of Sabinal, Texas passed away on Aug 4, 2026, at Mesavista Healthcare in San Antonio surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on May 5, 1954, in Uvalde, Texas to Herminia (Ybarra) and Jose Arredondo.

Patricia enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially caring for and watering her plants. She loved a good barbecue surrounded by family and cherished Sunday afternoons spent together, watching football games and making special memories with those she loved.

She is survived by two daughters, Joni Garcia and husband, Bernardo of Sabinal and Hilda Chavez and companion, Guadalupe Martinez of Knippa; son, Francisco Chavez, Jr. of Sabinal; two sisters, Maria Antonia Jennings of La Pryor and Carmen Gonzales of Uvalde; five brothers, Pete Arredondo of Uvalde, Juan Arredondo of Nebraska, Arturo Aredondo of San Angelo, Juan Gonzales, of El Campo and Mercedes Gonzales of Nueces Canyon; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francisco Chavez, Sr.; and two brothers, Bernardo Arredondo and Jose Arredondo.

The family will greet visitors on Aug. 21, 2026, at 6 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. Family and friends will gather after the rosary at St. Patrick's Cathilic Church Parish Hall  for dinner.
