Oswaldo Flores, 50, of Uvalde, Texas completed his journey on earth on May 3, 2026.
He was born on June 19, 1975, in Mexico City, D.F., Mexico to Rosa Irene (Villarreal) and Jose Osvaldo Flores Mata.
To know him was to love him.
A father, son, husband, uncle, brother, friend - these are a few titles that he held but none of them could fully encompass who he was. Oswaldo was a man of a faith, fisherman, sports enthusiast, and self proclaimed food connoisseur.
He attended Spanish mass each week and always encouraged his family to continue growing in their faith. English was his second language and his children loved teasing him about his accent- he would laugh about it too. Texting was the best part as it gave the family lots of material for evening jokes.
Oswaldo took pride in preparing meals for his family and showing off new recipes. The dishes he made were delicious and perfectly paired- although, there was that one time he made Chinese and we ate in silence that night. For the first time ever there was even enough for left overs.
Oswaldo loved sports and he coached his son and grandsons little league teams for their entire youth. Once that time surpassed he continued coaching from the bleachers. When there were no practices or games to attend he could be found out fishing, tending to the various animals he raised, or starting a new project.
Oswaldo loved his family deeply. He made frequent trips to Del Rio to visit his parents and spent countless hours on the lake. However, I'm sure if we asked him it was never enough. Oswaldo was kind, the most endearing, considerate, and loving. To know him was to love him.
He married Marisol Ramirez on October 16, 2004, in Uvalde, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Marisol Ramirez of 24 years total, married 21 through the Sacred Heart Church of Uvalde; parents, Jose Osvaldo and Rosa Flores of Del Rio; maternal grandmother, Rosa Irene Villarreal of Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico; three daughters, Kristina Garcia and husband, Juan, Klarissa Ruiz and husband, Roberto, and Victoria Flores all of Uvalde; two sons, Carlos Hernandez and partner, Merisa Maldonado and Wally Flores all of Uvalde; two brothers, Juan Alvaro Flores and wife, Karina of California and Eduardo Flores and wife, Brenda of Del Rio; grandchildren; Kelsey Garcia, Janel Garcia, Saige Garcia, Karly Garcia, Christian Garcia, Damian Flores, Siria Ruiz, Carrson Hernandez, and Marisol Hernandez; nieces and nephews, Karina Flores, Alvaro Flores, Patricio Flores, Natalia Flores, and Mia Flores.
