Odilia Lerma

Odilia Lerma, 94, of Uvalde, Texas passed away on May 14, 2025, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. She was born December 23, 1930, in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico to Maria Castro Longoria and José Maria Longoria she was one of seven children.

She married Raúl Y. Lerma Sr. on December 30, 1951, in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico, shortly after they moved to Uvalde, Texas where they started their family. They were married for 31 years.

She is survived by her children Raúl Y. Lerma Jr, of Uvalde, Texas, Jose Isaac of Houston, Texas, Haydee Ramirez and husband Reyes M. Ramirez III of San Antonio, Texas and sister Julieta Longoria Elizondo of Texas City, Texas.

Grandchildren Christopher Ramirez and wife Michelle Ramirez of Baytown, Texas, Marissa Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas, Samantha Lara Lerma and Vanessa Lara Lerma of Baytown, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She loved to be creative with her hands and was a seamstress for many years she also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her pets Cindy, Princey, Pepper, Bambi, Peewee, and Danger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raúl Y. Lerma Sr., and son Hector Longoria Lerma. Siblings; Salvador Longoria, Catalina Gonzalez, José Maria Longoria, Amalia Rodriguez, and Javier Longoria.

A memorial will be held on Saturday May 24th, 2025, at 2 P.M. at Rushing-Estes Knowles Mortuary.

Special thanks to her caregivers for the last six and a half years; Elma Negrete, Mrs. Rubio, Lupe Gonzalez, Estella Gonzalez, San Juana Medina, Brenda Reyes, and Corina Treviño, for taking care of our Mom and Grandmother during her final years.
