Nardys Burks of Uvalde passed away at her residence on June 12, 2012 at the age of 88. She was born on January 29, 1924 in Lampasas, Texas to Oscar Parker and Maude Grimland Hodge. She is survived by her daughter, Saundra Kay Scott and husband Ray of Uvalde, son, Willie Lee Burks Jr. and wife Carolyn of LaVernia, 6 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, 2 greatgreat grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Burks, parents, daughter, Phyllis Jacques, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Graveside services will be held on Saturday June 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
