Nancy dedicated her life to her husband and family, her friends and her everlasting faith. She spent years volunteering for the bone marrow transplant trials at Lackland Hospital, on the burn unit at BAMC, and the Uvalde Hospice, providing hours of support, comfort, and prayers to those at the time of their life they needed someone the most. She was a specialist in loans for low-income housing, and a pioneer for the reverse mortgage industry providing income for the elderly. She never met a child who didn’t immediately steal her heart or a dog that she didn’t feel the overwhelming urge to rescue. She was known by many as a very loyal, dedicated, and true friend and had one of the most compassionate and generous hearts.
Nancy was born on October 1,1948 to Forrest Sparks and Nellie Marie Hewitt in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is survived by her three daughters, Misti Fuentes and husband Gabriel of Fair Oaks Ranch, Amy Kramer of San Antonio, and Charla Garcia and husband Robert of Uvalde; her sister, Peggy Lakner of Washington, and brother Richard Sparks of Virginia. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Megan Fuentes of New York, Bailey Guerrero and husband Eddie of San Antonio, Christian May of Austin, and Hayden Fuentes and Olivia Schnoor of Austin, Hannah McFarlen and husband Leelynn of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by two great grandsons, Kessler and Parker. She is preceded in death by her husband, who was the love of her life, Commander Wesley M. Kramer, and her mother and father, Nellie and Forrest Sparks.
We are forever grateful for the thousands of hours of compassionate and loving care provided to her by her daughters, Misti and Amy, and by her caregiver, Claudia Tio, and the entire staff at Shavano Park Senior Living.
