Mary Nelson

Mary Ann Nelson formerly of Uvalde, Texas passed away on February 7th, 2023, in Los Angeles, California at the age of 83.  She was born on February 21, 1939, in Luling, Texas to John Henry McClaugherty and Alta Greenwood McClaugherty.

She married Jimmy Wayne Cherry Nelson in Uvalde, Texas and they were married for 41 years.

Mary Ann is survived by daughter Leslie Jay Nelson Morrison of Los Angeles, CA, daughter Lora Ann Nelson of San Antonio, TX, sister Shirley Merritt (Donald) of Uvalde, sister Carole Sue Clark (Doug) of San Antonio, brother John “Butch” McClaugherty (Toby) of Horseshoe Bay, grandchildren Tina Clark, M’Lise Helms, Cimarron Johnson, Raven Nelson, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Nelson, and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21st, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Baptist Temple Church at 620 E. Main Street in Uvalde.
