Martha Luna

Martha Uriegas Luna of Uvalde passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 92. She was born on April 3, 1929 in Uvalde, Texas to Celso and Elvira(Vara)Uriegas.

She is survived by her daughters; Linda Gomez and spouse Armando, Anna Munoz, Martha Lara and spouse Robert, Sulema Ybarra and spouse Conrad, Jr., Idy Gonzales and spouse Ben, Sr., all of Uvalde, Betty Booher and spouse Joe, of Schertz, Texas, Pat Reyes of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sons, Armando Luna and spouse Darlene, Raul Luna, Sr. and spouse Karina, Joe Luna all of Uvalde. 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, grandson Aaron Villareal, son in law Eloy Reyes, son in law Rogelio Munoz, Sr.; granddaughter, Jana Strawn, great granddaughter, Nevaeh Covarrubias; brother's, Celso Alex (Cate) Uriegas and Raul Uriegas; sisters, Evangelina (Nena) Overstreet and Anita Rodriguez. .

Visitation for Martha will start on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 5:30 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde, Texas. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Luna, Ronald Strawn, Rogelio Munoz, Jr., Rebecca Villareal, Monica Lara, Raul Luna, Jr., Lupe T. Reyes, Conrad Ybarra III, Gabriel Luna, and Ben Gonzales, Jr.
