Maria Pena

Mrs. Maria Noelia Peña of Uvalde passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.

Maria was born on August 28, 1943 in Crystal City to Noe and Maria (Mata) Montemayor.

She married Federico G. Pena on August 1, 1962 in Crystal City, Texas.

Maria is survived by four daughters, Nora Maria Martinez and husband Ismael of Austin, Sandra Savala and Steve of Silvis, Ill., Edna Valenzuela of Muscatine, Iowa and Diana Peña Sanchez of Bettendorf, Iowa: son Israel M. Peña of Dallas; thirteen siblings, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, son Federico Peña Jr, parents Noe Montemayor, Maria Villarreal, stepfather Vidal Villarreal and grandson Antonio Valenzuela.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Cremation under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary,
