Maria M. Martinez of Uvalde passed away on September 30, 2013 at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 75. She was born on October 9, 1937 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Pablo and Cristina Rivera Monsivais. She is survived by her beloved family and a host of special friends. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesse Martinez, Deomar J. Martinez, Ismael Escobar, Juan Pichardo, Joaquin Palacio, Ely Moreno, Alberto Mota and Joshua Najera. Honorary pallbearer will be Rey D. Jimenez.
