Pastor Larry Martinez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at 1:30 a.m.
He was born on November 25, 1938, in Mexico to Lorenzo and Maria “Cuca” Martinez. On July 26, 1958, Pastor Larry married the love of his life, Linda Martinez, in Randolph, Wisconsin. Together they built a strong foundation of faith and family that has carried through generations. Pastor Larry faithfully served in ministry for over 50 years, during which he touched countless lives with his dedication to the Gospel.
He pastored Trinity Fellowship for 13 years, leading his congregation with wisdom, humility, and a deep love for Christ. His legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Martinez of San Antonio; daughter Cindy Martinez of San Antonio, TX; son Tony Martinez and wife Mary of Waupun, WI; and son Todd Martinez and wife Jill of Seoul, Korea. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Vanessa Machuca of San Antonio; Matthew, Laura, and Amy of Waupun, WI; Devan and Chelsey Caballero of Uvalde; and great-grandson Benton Caballero of Uvalde. He is also survived by his siblings: Paul Martinez of Uvalde, TX; Cathy Martinez of Uvalde; Caco Martinez of Madison, WI; Chano Martinez of Hereford, TX; and Reuben Martinez of Uvalde, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Pastor Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Maria “Cuca” Martinez; his daughter Nancy Caballero; and his son Jerry Martinez.
Visitation and public viewing will begin on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde, TX.
Pallbearers will be Benton Caballero, Devan Caballero, Chelsey Caballero, Vanessa Machuca, Helena Martinez, and Ian Martinez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Machuca, Albert Caballero, Curtis Yeschke, Todd Martinez, and Tony Martinez.Pastor Larry will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to Christ, his steadfast love for his family, and his heart for people.
