Lasara Rosas Trevino

Lasara Rosas Trevino, 79, of Uvalde, Texas was called by name by our Lord and followed him to her eternal home on Saturday July 18, 2026, surrounded by her dedicated Husband of 61 years and her loving family.

Lasara was of Mexican, Spanish and Italian descent and embraced who she was regardless of what life presented.

She was born May 8, 1947 on a nice sunny bright day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Marcello Rosas Sr. and Virginia Zamora

She was known as “Sara” by most, Nonna and Gramma by her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren and lovingly called Mommy by her adult children. She always placed her family first in all occasions, dedicating her life to them wholeheartedly. She was Loved as the anchor and pillar of her family. A beloved wife and mother.

Early in life due to hardships in family life in the 60’s she stayed home as a teen to help her mother raise her younger siblings whom embraced her as a second Mom and respected her fondly as the leader of the pack up until her passing.

She was happily married to Manuel Angel Trevino Sr. in a small loving intimate ceremony on June 19, 1965. They lived several years in Springfield and Woodstock, Illinois where they had their first two children. Later they decided on making Uvalde, Texas their permanent home where their parents had relocated to live. They celebrated 61 years of marriage in a small intimate dinner alone together reminiscing on all they had lived and enjoyed in life together.

She was absolutely honored to have accomplished being a Nurse-Aide in her earlier years at various Nursing homes in her community, always serving with much love and patience. She expressed herself at times stating she prayed someone would be so kind to her when she aged.

She was an admired strong faithful woman of Christ, a Sister-in-Christ to all in her life and in her community. She dedicated her whole life to the Lord raising her children to know Christ as their Savior. She counted her son Manuel’s pastoral service, Daughter-in- Law Maria’s pastoral service and her daughter Berti’s faithful dedicated service to the Lord among her greatest blessings.

She was proud to be a part of a military family having two sons and a son-in-law whom served in the Military (Army/Son-Miguel, Marines/Son-Marcos and Air Force/SIL-Oscar). She took great pride in being a True Texan even though she was born in Wisconsin, often stating Texas ran in her blood! Whom she was proud of the most was her husband. She was happy to support him in his venture to become a Self-Taught General Construction Contractor and Entrepreneur in which he built many businesses and several countless homes throughout South Texas. Always reminding him they were in it together till death do them part.

Often even helping in cleaning, painting, installing insulation, purchasing supplies or whatever it took to get things accomplished to raise their family together.

She had a love for being a seamstress. Though many consider being a seamstress work, she considered this a hobby and a leisure time making all of her daughters back-to-school clothes as she grew up to include her formal wear. She spent many years joyfully making formal gowns for Weddings, Quinceaneras, Sweet Sixteen’s and Prom dresses. She absolutely had a love for fashion. She loved dressing up in heels and doing her own hair nicely, especially for church. She made all her own attire including her own formal wear for all the special occasions that came up in life with her favorite color being red. What she enjoyed sewing most were outfits for her Grandchildren for Halloween, school plays or choir, Christmas events and just about anything that came up.

She was a two-time Cancer survivor. Second time having endured a bone marrow transplant and being her very own stem cell recipient among other unfortunate illnesses. Always placing her whole life and faith wholeheartedly in the Lord. She was a walking example of the miracles the Lord still performs on earth even to this day and age. Having helped and cared for her husband during his battle with pancreatic cancer too, she felt very blessed he was a twenty-year survivor always grateful for the years the lord continued to bless them together. Her message to all humanity is not to lose faith in Christ and believe in his promises often reminding all of Christ words, “I go to prepare a place for you” John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”

Up until the day of her last breath she prayed asking the Lord to care for her children, grandchildren and her whole family in keeping them safe and saved in his loving care; guiding, shielding and protecting each of her family members and close friends. Lord, we commend to you, hear her heart and prayers! Amen!

She is survived by her loving husband Manuel Angel Trevino Sr., of Uvalde, Texas whom she met in 1st grade on their school elementary playground. Her only caring and dedicated daughter Berta Rosa Trevino Valenzuela (her Berti Rose) and Spouse of 38 years Oscar T. Valenzuela whom she loved as a son, from Naples, Italy. Her caring and loving son Manuel A. Trevino Jr and spouse of 40 years Maria Sanchez Trevino whom she loved as a daughter, from Uvalde, TX. Her son Miguel Angel Trevino whom came into their lives as a blessed miracle, from Uvalde, TX. Her son Marcos Angel Trevino whom multiplied their blessings to complete the family she always wanted and his loving fiancée Morgan Minor, from Uvalde, TX.

She is also survived by her twelve Grandchildren, adult and small whom she loved with all her heart and cared for, always giving them all the Gramma love in the world by feeding them and always cooking their favorite meals, attending all their sports, main events and always ready for hugs. Grandsons Manuel A Trevino III (Spouse-Maggie), Vincent Theo Valenzuela (Spouse-Beatriz), Victor Steven Valenzuela (partner-Samantha Salazar), Markie Trevino, Marcelo Trevino, and John Trevino. Grand-Daughters Mercedez T. Johnson (Spouse-Adam), Mariah T. Balbuena (Spouse-Ignacio), Marcella T. Arias (Spouse-Adrian), Abigail Trevino and Lilliana Ann Trevino and eleven loving happy outgoing Great-Grandchildren whom she adored.

Last but not least, she felt blessed to have numerous nephew and nieces whom she loved and enjoyed their phone calls and visits.

She is also survived by her two Sisters whom she had a strong loving bonding relationship with. Dolores Coronado Hernandez, from Arlington, TX and Martha Coronado Esquivel, from Ft. Worth, TX.

She is preceded in death by her mother whom she loved dearly, Virginia Zamora Coronado. Her Step-Dad whom she called “Apa”, whom raised her as his own, Jose Coronado Sr. Her Father Marcello Rosas Sr. her Brother Marcello Rosas Jr. Sisters, Virginia Rosas Morales, Eufemia Coronado Urvieta, Armando Coronado and Jose Coronado Jr. and her angel, JoAnn Sanchez whom she cared for until her passing.

Visitation will be held at Rushes Estes Mortuary, Uvalde, TX - Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Christian Service provided by her son, Pastor Manuel Angel Trevino Jr with Elim Christian Fellowship at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday July 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Manuel Angel Trevino III, Vincent Theo Valenzuela, Victor Steven Valenzuela, Markie Trevino, Marcelo Trevino, John Trevino and Ali Coronado.

Honorary Pallbearers: Miguel Angel Trevino, Marcos Angel Trevino and Bowen Minor
