Kenneth Rogers

Kenneth Roy Rogers, 86, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 9, 2025. He was born on March 19, 1939, to Roy Douglas Rogers and Sadie Irene (Chisholm) Rogers.

Ken grew up in Leakey, Texas, and after graduating from high school, attended Baylor University. He was a lifelong entrepreneur and businessman, owning an insurance agency in Hereford, Texas, for many years. He explored a variety of ventures, from raising rare birds to cultivating pecan trees and more. He loved to restore old cars and woodworking projects. His workshop was a favorite place for him to be.

He was actively involved in his community, serving as president of the Hereford Chamber of Commerce and working to help build and support the city of Hereford. Ken was a proud member of the Rotary Club and a devoted member of First Baptist Church.

Ken is survived by his daughter, Mendy Wandling and her husband, Ed of Tyler, Texas; his son, Blair Rogers and his wife, Kim of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; his grandchildren, Angie Smith and her husband, Rob, Kirstin Zoch and her husband, Michael, Kathryn Haecker and her husband, Justin, Lexee Alberts and her husband, Michael, and Landon Rogers; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Carmichael, as well as a niece and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sadie Rogers; his brother, Jerry Rogers; and the mother of his children, Lucy Rogers.

A time of remembrance for family and friends is being planned, with details yet to be determined.
