Judy Moore Garner, 78, a lifetime resident of Uvalde, died July 15, 2025, at Methodist Metropolitan Hospital in San Antonio.
A memorial service and celebration of Judy's life will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, July 26, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Uvalde. The Rev. Bob Counselman, interim rector at St. Philip's, officiated.
Judy was born April 25, 1947, in Uvalde to James Gordon and Julia Paschal Moore.
She graduated from Uvalde High School in 1965 and went on to receive a business education degree from Baylor University in 1969.
Judy was a teacher for many years with the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. She taught Microsoft Office and business classes at Uvalde High School and Excel Academy. She was also a national team leader for the Logos Program throughout the U.S.
Survivors include: her husband of 56 years, Mike Garner of Uvalde; two sons, Steven Garner (Brooke) of Uvalde and Chase Garner (Rachel) of Austin; one brother, Mike Moore (Jane) of Uvalde; sister-in-law, Joy Watkins (Dr. Harry Watkins) of Uvalde; brother-in-law, Steven Garner (Pam) of Austin; grandchildren, Jodie Garner, Morgan Nowak (Seth), Dylan Garner, Charley Garner and Lucie Garner; niece, Chelsea Hutto; nephews, Todd and Davis Moore, and Bennie Smallwood.
She was preceded in death by Gordon and Julia Moore, and Dr. W.L and Mabel Garner.
Cremation is under the direction of Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to El Progresso Memorial Library or the charity of one's choice.
