Juan M. De La Rosa

Juan M. De La Rosa, 83, of Uvalde passed away on October 12, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on February 9, 1940, in San Agustin de Melilla, Zacatecas, Mexico to Maria Elena (Valadez) and Ramon De La Rosa. 

He married Juanita Marina Martinez on October 28, 1961, in Piedras Negras, Mexico. 

He is survived by his wife of 61 years of Uvalde; daughter, Magda De La Rosa of Uvalde; two sons, Juan De La Rosa, Jr. of San Antonio and Joe De La Rosa of Uvalde; sister, Arminda Trevino of Uvalde; brother, Isidro De La Rosa of Uvalde; grandchild, Cecilia De La Rosa; great granddaughters, Jaelani De La Rosa and Braelynn De La Rosa; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Juan “Johnny" De La Rosa, III. 

Visitation will begin on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 3 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, October 17, 2023 beginning at 8 a.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Reymundo Martinez, III, Adrian Trevino, Abel Trevino, Alfredo Trevino, Armando Briseno, Jr., and Margarito Garza.
