Juan Caballero

Juan Caballero, 93, of Uvalde passed away on March 13, 2024, at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

He was born on June 24, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas to Guadalupe (Romero) and Francisco Caballero. 

He married Irma Alicia Hurtado on March 12, 1950 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico.  

He is survived by his daughter, Dianna C. Franco and husband, Rogelio of Leander; four sons, Johnny Caballero and wife, Gloria of Uvalde, Oscar Caballero  and wife, Yolanda of Red Rock, Armando Caballero and wife, Noemi of Uvalde, and Alberto Caballero of Uvalde; two sisters, Guadalupe Salinas of Pharr and Irma Gonzales of Uvalde; special friend, Diana Granados of Uvalde; twelve grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his wife; two grandchildren, Liv Gallardo and Crissy Sweeten; sister, Amelia Torres; brothers, Francisco Caballero and Manuel Caballero; daughter in law, Nancy Caballero.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
