Joseph Alvin Easley, affectionately known as Jody, age 53, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away from heart failure on August 24, 2026.
He was born on January 16, 1973.
Jody spent much of his life working in construction. He was a hardworking man who could build and repair almost anything, but he will be remembered most for the love he shared with his family and friends. He was deeply loved by those who knew him, and his presence will be greatly missed. Jody’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his son, Jackson, and the bond they shared was truly special.
Jody was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Rankin Easley; his father, Jack Easley; and his oldest brother Jack Easley, Jr.
Jody was always proud to be a “mama’s boy” and shared a very special bond with his mother. There is comfort in knowing that he is now reunited in Heaven with his mama, his daddy, and his older brother.
Jody is survived by his beloved son, Jackson Easley; his stepdaughter Rayleigh; his older brother, Jim Easley and wife Melissa; as well as extended family members and many friends who loved him dearly.
Although Jody’s life ended far too soon, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family takes comfort in imagining the joyful reunion that awaited him—with his mama’s arms around him, his daddy by his side, and his brother welcoming him home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:45 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
