Josefa "Pita" R. Diaz

Josefa “Pita” R. Diaz, 86, of Uvalde passed away on December 2, 2023, at her residence. 

She was born on February 17, 1937 in Crystal City to Josefa (Gonzales) and Miguel Rodriguez. 

She married Antonio Diaz on June 12, 1993, in Crystal City. 

She is survived by her husband of 30 years of Uvalde; Jesus Rodriguez and Frank Colon both of San Antonio whom she loved liked sons; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Argentina La Fuente, Feliz Rodriguez, and Guadalupe Holguin; five brothers, Miguel Rodriguez, Pioquinto Rodriguez, Jesus Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez and Arturo Rodriguez. 

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, Dec 12, 2023, at 12 p.m., and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec 13, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Frank Colon, Ida Lopez, Rudy Rodriguez, Amanda Rodriguez, Gonzalo La Fuente and Robert Rodriguez.
