Jose Angel Ortiz

Jose Angel Ortiz, Sr. 72, of Uvalde, Texas passed away on December 12, 2025, at PAM Specialty Hospital in San Antonio.

He was born on May 31, 1953, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Maria (Orta) and Ricardo Ortiz.

He is survived by three sons, Jose Angel Ortiz, Jorge Ortiz and wife, Antonia, and Juan Manuel Ortiz and wife, Esmeralda all of Uvalde; sister, Ana Maria Cura of Uvalde; brother, Ricardo Ortiz and wife, Julia of Georgia; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria De La Luz (Luna) Oritz; sister, Maria Guadalupe Patino; three brothers, Lucio Ortiz, Nicolas Ortiz, and Jesus Manuel.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
