Jose Garza

Mr. Jose V. Pepe Garza of La Pryor, Tx. passed away August 1, 2007 in Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Tx. at the age of 62.

He was born December 18, 1944 in La Pryor, Tx. to Francisco Manuela Garza.

He and Alicia Gonzales were married at St. Josephs Catholic Church in La Pryor, Tx. on March 20, 1964.

Mr. Garza was a maintenance supervisor for Texas Dept. of Transportation for 33 years and retired at the age of 55. He was a Four Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Alicia Garza of La Pryor, Tx.; children, Debbie Lopez husband, Tony; Joe Garza, Jr. Peter Garza wife, Gloria, all of La Pryor, Tx.; brothers, Paul Garza of Wisconsin; Carlos Garza of Maryland Raul Garza Bobby Garza, both of Crystal City, Tx.; sisters, Isabel Jimenez Mary Garza, of Crystal City, Tx.; Francis Rodriguez of Minnesota; Terri Martinez of Dallas; grandchildren, Adam Lopez; Julian Lopez; Jonathan Ramirez; Wesley Garza; Andrea Garza; Brandy Garza; Jeremiah Garza Pedro Garza, Jr.; numerous nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Pedro Consuelo Gonzales.

A rosary will be held at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 7:00 pm and on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11:00 am. Funeral services will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Church in La Pryor, Tx. on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in La Pryor Cemetery. Fr. Anthony Mendoza will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Paul Garza, Carlos Garza, Raul Garza, Bobby Garza, Joe Gonzales, Ismael Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Gonzales, Juan Gonzales, Juan Ledezma, Fred Enriquez, Alejandro Chapa, Joe Ramirez, Ralph Mendoza, Victor Delgado, Alejandro Perez, Jose Luis Jimenez.

Donations may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in La Pryor TX.
