Jose Cano of Uvalde passed away on August 8, 2009 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 51. He was born on June 27, 1958 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Aristeo and Maria Vasquez Cano. He married Otila Herrera in Uvalde on December 26, 1991. He is survived by his wife of 17 years; parents, Aristeo and Maria Cano of Uvalde; two daughters, Daisy Cano and husband Fabian Cazares; and Diana Cano all of Uvalde; two sons, Sergio Cano of Uvalde; and Jose Alonzo Cano of Piedras Negras, Mexico; four sisters, Rosa Maria Hernandez, Maria Alicia Ruiz, Maria Yolanda Lira, and Alma Patricia Cazares, all of Uvalde; two brothers, Rolando Cano and Adolfo Cano, both of Uvalde; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
