Johnny Amaro, Jr., 63, of Uvalde passed away on August 30, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born on January 26, 1962, in San Marcos, Texas to Shirley (Zavala) and Johnny Amaro, Sr.
He is survived by three daughters, Priscilla Amaro and husband, Josue Chavez of Uvalde, Cheryl Amaro and husband, Brandon Valdez, of Edinburg and Valerie Martinez and husband, Joe of Uvalde; two sons, Johnny Amaro of Edinburg and Rafael Bazan and wife, Lavonne of Uvalde; brother, Edward Zavala and wife, Ruth of Mercedes; 8 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment of ashes will be held on a later date at San Juan Cemetery in Maxwell, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Josue Chavez, Bobby Olivarez, Robert Hinojosa, Derrick Villalongin, Alvino Sotelo, and Marcus Arredondo.
