Joan Falkenberg

Joan Falkenberg, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on September 7, 2026, in San Antonio at the age of 76. She was born on August 10, 1950, in Uvalde, Texas, to Wilfred and Barbara (Davenport) Falkenberg.She graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, and later attended Saint Mary’s University, where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Geology. She worked for the City of San Antonio as an Environmental Protection Officer, then later for San Antonio Water System, where she retired as a Geologist. Her professional endeavors carried over to her personal life, where she maintained an interest in identifying and collecting various rock formations. She also maintained a close relationship with her two sisters.Joan was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her sisters, Judy and Jane, a niece, Jennifer Cotton, and a nephew, James Roy Falkenberg.
