Jimmy Wynn Harrell was born on August 3, 1933 in Houston, TX and passed away on May 21, 2019 at the age of 85. He was the middle son of Mildred and Dudley Harrell and had two brothers, Jack and John. Before high school, his family moved back to Uvalde where his father bought a small ranch on the river north of Chalk Bluff. Jimmy always said, “had WWII not happened, I would not have known Uvalde, schools, or met my wife. War was bad but the move was good.”

Jimmy was known for being a decorated athlete, perhaps most known for being quarterback of the Uvalde Coyotes and taking them to the state semi-finals in 1949. He also played on the state qualifying basketball team in 48-49, as well as running track and playing baseball for Uvalde Coyotes. Jimmy married Clarisie Langford on February 2, 1957 in Uvalde, TX. They had three children: Jack, Ginger, and Cindy. He was a teacher/coach in Knippa and Uvalde, ranched for Sam Harrison, ran the Leakey Mercantile, and managed the Stowers Ranch in Kerr County from 1978-2008. Jimmy and Clarisie were also strong supporters of the Real County Junior Horse Club for over 30 years. After retirement from 30 years at the Stowers Ranch, Jimmy and Clarisie moved to Junction to enjoy time with their grandchildren. Jimmy was a member of the College Street Church of Christ in Junction, Texas.
