Jessie Miller

Jessie E. Miller (Gerrie) went home to the Lord on June 24, 2023. She was born on April 21, 1941, in Macon, Georgia to parents Felton and Mary Andrews, both deceased. She was preceded in death by son Bryan A. Miller of Beeville, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband of 64½ years, Arthur R. Miller of Brackettville, Texas; daughter Lynn Bealefeld of Brackettville; son Kevin Miller, Campbellsville, Kentucky; grandchildren Stacy Miller of Denton, Texas; Paige Fedoryk of Midlothian, Virginia, Donna Luttrell and MacKenzie Miller of Campbellsville; Leanna Miller of Beeville; great grandchildren Hailey and Alina Fedoryk of Midlothian; Silas Mack of Denton.

On December 24, 1958, Gerrie married her high school sweetheart Arthur (Randy), who was career US Navy. Even though she was married, Gerrie completed her final year of high school and graduated from Glynn Academy, class of 1959. She proved to be a valuable partner who was instrumental in Art’s success in the Naval Service. Gerrie worked as a dental assistant on Guam and at Jacksonville, Fl. When her husband retired in Corpus Christi Texas, she worked as a teacher aide at Flour Bluff High School where she ran the computer lab and then in-school suspension, where she was instrumental in helping to turn some of the troubled kids in the right direction.

After battling lung cancer in 1999, she and Art both retired, purchased a motorhome and started to see the USA, where they found Fort Clark Springs (FCS) in 2001. They made many friends in the RV community and used FCS as a home base until health issues forced an end to RVing in 2013. She was an avid quilter and made many quilts to give to relatives and friends.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church (FUMC), Brackettville, Texas. Memorial services are scheduled for July 29, 2023, at 11:00. A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her name to FUMC, PO Box 93, Brackettville, TX 78832.
