Jana Janes Jackson

Jana Janes Jackson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Utopia, Texas, at the age of 74.

 Born in Uvalde, Texas, on May 8, 1951, Jana was the cherished daughter of James R. Jackson and Thelma Janes Jackson. Known affectionately as "JJ" to many, and "Nannie" to her adoring family, Jana will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives. Jana was preceded in death by her father, James R. "JR" Jackson; her mother, Thelma Janes Jackson; and her brother, Wayne Jackson. 

She is survived by her loving children: son, Robert "Bobby" Mauldin Jr.; daughters, Jena Smothers and her husband Ron, and Jenna Browder and her husband Tyler. 

Jana was a proud grandmother to her grandsons, Riley Smothers, Jett Smothers, and Brixton Browder, and her granddaughter, Britian Browder. She also leaves behind her brother, Jim Jackson and his wife Janet; her sister, Sara Beach and her husband Greg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jana's memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
