James Cody Elrod

James “Cody” Elrod, 73, of Uvalde, passed away on July 5, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born on October 4, 1951, in Falfurrias, Texas to Dayse (Adams) and Dardus Elrod.

A memorial service will be held on July 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

He is survived by two sons Brandon Elrod of Uvalde and Casey Elrod of George West; sister, Lindy Elrod and husband, Pat Phillips of Brownwood; two brothers, Jed Elrod and wife, Susan of Stockdale and Ben Elrod and wife Chris of Uvalde; 4 grandchildren, Gaige Elrod, Kayla Elrod, Kylie Elrod, and Holden Elrod; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Will Elrod, and granddaughter, Makenna Elrod.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
