Hermila Leos Contreras

Hermila Leos Contreras of Sabinal passed away on June 18, 2023, at her residence at the age of 92.

She was born on January 26, 1931, in Sabinal, Texas to Ascencion (Amaya) and Juan Leos.

She married Isabel O. Contreras on April 29, 1956, in Sabinal, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years of Sabinal, Texas; two daughters, Vulmar Hernandez, and husband, Joe of San Antonio and Rita Ann Lopez and husband, Raul, Jr. of Sabinal; two sons, Ramiro Contreras and wife, Sally of Uvalde and Junior Contreras, Jr. and wife, Stacy of Katy; two sisters, Soila Rodriguez and Rosie Nieto both of Sabinal; brother, Ervey Leos of Sabinal; seven grandchildren, RJ Contreras, Noah Contreras, Joey Hernandez, Silvanna Herrera, Jay Contreras, Ashley Contreras, and Rhianna Lopez; two great grandchildren; Javier Contreras and Scarlett Contreras.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Inocencio Leos, Pete Leos, and Raul Leos.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 2 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal.  Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be R.J. Contreras, Noah Contreras, Joey Hernandez, Silvana Herrera, Jay Contreras, Ashley Contreras, and Rhianna Lopez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Javier Contreras and Scarlett Contreras.
