Guadalupe C. Santos

Guadalupe C. Santos, 78, of Uvalde passed away on August 27, 2026, at Amistad Nursing Home.

She was born on September 5, 1947, in Uvalde, Texas to Anita (Fuentes) and Jose Antonio F. Cardenas.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Benavides and husband, Eddie of Uvalde, Deborah Villafranco of Houston, and Jo Anna Santos-Cardenas and husband, Ozzy of Uvalde; son, David Charles Santos of Uvalde; grandchildren, Esteban J. Benavides, Audrey Lynn Villafranco, Mary Anthony Villafranco, Bellen Cardenas, David Cardenas, Niko Santos and Naija Santos; two great grandchildren, Madilynn Nguyen and Phinix Nguyen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Santos; and three brothers, Antonio Fuentes Cardenas, Gilberto Escobedo, Jose Escobedo and Juan Escobedo.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Humberto Buantello, Jr., Paul Anthony Escobedo, Ozzy Cardenas, Esteban Benavides, Audrey Lynn Villafranco, Albert Ybarra, Niko Che Santos, and Joe Benavides.
