Guadalupe M. Lopez Sr.

Guadalupe M. Lopez, Sr., 76, of Uvalde Texas passed away on August 9, 2026, at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Tues. Aug 11, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wed. Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A rosary will be recited on both days at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thurs. Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

He was born on January 29, 1950, in Uvalde, Texas to Mariana (Moreno) and Ignacio Lopez.

He married Gilda Cuellar on November 5, 1967, in Uvalde Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gilda Lopez of Uvalde; four daughters, Gina Castillo and husband, Alfredo, Melinda Lopez , Belinda Palacios and husband, Leonard, and De Andra Lopez all of Uvalde; five sons, Arnold Lopez and wife, Laura of San Antonio, Guadalupe Lopez Jr. and wife, Christy of Uvalde, Ben Lopez and wife, Mari of San Antonio, Roy Lopez and wife, Brook, of Uvalde, and Abel Lopez and wife, Felicia of Uvalde; 28 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepbrother, Oscar Belman; and two grandsons, Xavier Lopez and John Paul Castillo.

Pallbearers will be Arnold Lopez, Guadalupe Lopez, Jr., Ben Lopez, Roy Lopez, Abel Lopez, and Leonard Palacios, Jr.
