Gilberto M. Servantes of Uvalde passed away on September 25, 2012 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. He was born on December 3, 1923 in Blewett, Texas to Raymondo and Julia Melig Servantes. He is survived by his daughter, Veronica Reyes Servantes, brother, Joe Servantes Sr. and wife Belia both of Uvalde and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Garza, parents and sister, Nancy Canales. A rosary will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Felan, Daryl Bell, Hector Servantes and Gary Middleton.
