Gilberto Gallegos

Gilberto Gallegos of Uvalde passed away on October 31, 2022 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. He was born on March 4, 1940 in D’Hanis, Texas to Vicenta (Cortez) and Melchor Gallegos.

He married Maria Oralia Cervantez in Uvalde on December 17, 1976.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years of Uvalde; one daughter, Sandra Rubio and husband, Felix of Uvalde; two sons, Gilberto Gallegos, Jr. and Alfred Pineda, Jr. both of San Antonio; two sisters, Velia Gonzales and Vicenta Gomez both of D’Hanis; one brother, Rudy Gallegos of D’Hanis; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Gallegos; and son, Reynaldo Pineda.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Arturo Gonzales, Julio Gomez, Daniel Gonzales, Felix Rubio, Mark Moreno, and Rogelio Cervantes.
