Fructuoso Lopez Sanchez

Fructuoso Lopez Sanchez, Sr. of Uvalde, Texas passed away on July 10, 2026, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

He was born on January 26, 1956, in Hermanas, Coahuila, Mexico to Maria Del Refugio (Lopez) and Fructuoso Sanchez.

He married Silvia Garcia on November 5, 1973, in Piedras Negras, Mexico

He is survived by his wife, Silvia of Uvalde; daughter, Juliana Sanchez of Uvalde; four sons, Fructuoso Sanchez, Jr. and wife, Priscilla V. of Seguin, Jesus Sanchez of Dallas, Rodrigo Sanchez and wife, Maria Bustos and Alex Sanchez all of Uvalde; three sisters, Rosa Sanchez, Gloria Sanchez, and Carmela Sanchez, all of Piedras Negras, Mexico; brother, Julio Sanchez of Piedras Negras, Mexico; ten grandchildren, Cristian Sanchez, Kaitlyn Hernandez, Kara Hernandez, Adolfo Hernandez, Madeline Sanchez, Damien Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez, Joel Ryan Sanchez, Dariela Bustos, and Derek Garcia; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Amanda Sanchez, and three brothers, Juan Sanchez, Pascual Sanchez, and Jose Luis Sanchez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Fructuoso Sanchez, Jr. Rodrigo Sanchez, Alex Sanchez, Cristian Sanchez, Adolfo Hernandez and Mauricio Duron.
