Fred Antone Peters

Fred Antone Peters VI August 20, 2000 – July 25, 2026 

Fred Antone Peters VI, age 25, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a life lived fully outdoors and a legacy of hard work, adventure, and love for his family and friends. 

Fred was born to Fred and Becky Peters and spent his early years in Lincoln, Missouri, where the majority of his extended family still resides. Even as a boy, his competitive spirit shone through as he played baseball, football, and basketball. In 2011, the family moved to Hawley,Texas, before settling in Clarksville, Tennessee in 2012, where Fred attended Montgomery Central for middle and high school. There, he threw himself into everything he loved — he was an active member of the Student Pep Section, served as President of the FFA chapter, stayed involved in his church, and competed on the Scholastic Shooting Team, where he earned a national ranking in clay target shooting. He graduated Montgomery Central with the class of 2019. 

Fred's love of the land and the outdoors led him back to South Texas, where he attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville to study Ranch and Wildlife Management. It was a path that suited him perfectly, and it led him straight into his dream job in 2023 managing the 501 Ranch in Uvalde, Texas, where he guided hunts and cared for the land he loved.

Alongside his best friend, he also started F&R Wild Wings, raising game birds and building something of his own from the ground up. Fred was never happier than when he was outside — hunting, fishing, out on the river or the ocean, or tending to his many animals. More than just enjoying the land, he was a true steward of it, understanding wildlife management not as a job but as a calling and a responsibility. He cared for the ground beneath him and the creatures on it with the same devotion he gave to the people in his life, always working to leave a place better than he found it. 

That generosity extended to everyone he knew. Fred was the kind of person who couldn't keep a good thing to himself — he was always inviting friends and family along on a hunt, teaching someone to fish, showing a newcomer the ropes on the ranch, or simply making sure everyone around him felt welcome outdoors. He had a gift for turning his passion into shared experience, and countless people carry a memory of a day in the field or on the water because Fred wanted them there with him. 

At the center of it all was his fiancée, Kylie Helmcamp, who was his whole world. From the moment they met, you could see Fred had met his perfect match by the smile on his face when he was with Kylie or talking about her. They had a special bond sharing their love of animals and the outdoors. They had plans for a beautiful future together. 

Fred is survived by his parents, Fred and Becky Peters of Corpus Christi,Texas; his fiancée, Kylie Helmcamp of Weimer, Texas; his sister Kara Trotter and her husband Will of Clarksville, Tennessee; his paternal grandparents, Fred and Sandra Peters of Sedalia, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Karoline Fitzpatrick of Lincoln, Missouri; and many beloved cousins, friends, and relatives who will carry his memory forward. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Howard Fitzpatrick. 

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, August 1st at 6pm on the 501 Ranch in Uvalde, Texas. Services in Clarksville, Tennessee, and in Lincoln, Missouri, will be planned with dates and details to be announced. Fred's spirit — adventurous, hardworking, and deeply devoted to the people and places he loved — will be dearly missed by all who knew him
