Felix E. Rubio, a devoted family man, meticulous organizer, and a recreational deer hunter, passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on June 9, 1954, in Villa Union, Coahuila; Mexico. Felix was the beloved son of the late Esteban Rubio Valverde and Crescencia Chavarria. Felix leaves behind his cherished wife, Dora Nelia, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of love, laughter, and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with devotion and dedication; raising two daughters who carry forward his legacy of warmth and kindness; Dora Patricia and Dulce Maria. Felix is also survived by his brother, Jose Andres Rubio and wife Leticia; sister, Rosie Jimenez and the late husband Jesus Antonio Jimenez from New Braunfels, and numerous nieces and nephews. Felix's love for the outdoors was unmatched, second only to his remarkable organizational skills. His preparation for hunting trips was legendary among family and friends. With Felix, nothing was left to chance; every outing was carefully planned to ensure a seamless experience in nature’s embrace. His passion for the wilderness was a reflection of his deep appreciation for life and the beauty it holds. Felix’s life was a testament to the power of dedication, love, and meticulous care. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched. His family finds comfort in the countless memories they shared and in the knowledge that Felix’s spirit will always be with them, guiding them with the love and precision he exemplified throughout his life. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8. 2026, from 9 a.m to 1:30 p.m. and Rosary starting at 11:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes Knowles Mortuary. A Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be his brother Jose Andres and nephews Jesse, Andy and Gabriel Jimenez.
