Evaristo Jalomo

Evaristo Hernandez Jalomo was born in the small town of Sabinal, Texas on October 26th, 1933 to Hilario Jalomo and Amada Hernandez.

Evaristo lived a long and meaningful life, guided by a strong faith in God and an unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted, religious man whose kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. His faith was his foundation of his life where he found joy in prayer and sharing God’s love through his actions.

A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary Ann, Evaristo treasured the life they built together. They were wonderful dance partners; it wasn’t uncommon for people to stop and watch as they dominated the dance floor, sharing truly contagious joy.

He was a wonderful father and grandfather who would do anything for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was always the center of his life, as he cherished every moment spent with those he loved.

Throughout his life, Evaristo held a variety of occupations, each with a story to tell. He often reminisced about working as a shoe-shiner in his early years, later pivoting his vocation to work in the fields. Then, in his early twenties, he owned his own gas station. He spent many years as a truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. These experiences reflected a lifetime of determination, perseverance, and hard work.

Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Evaristo always had a story to share and a way of making people smile. He had a soulful singing voice, often surprising family and friends by suddenly belting out a favorite tune. He was also an excellent pool player and enjoyed the friendly competition. Whether he was singing, dancing, telling stories, or laughing with loved ones, he had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Evaristo will be remembered for his warm heart, quiet strength, unyielding faith, and the example he set through a life lived with humility, integrity, and love. His legacy of faith, compassion, laughter, music, and unwavering devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the memories they shared and the belief that he is now at peace in God’s everlasting embrace. May he rest in eternal peace and may his memory forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Jalomo; his father, Hilario Jalomo; his mother, Amada Hernandez; his sisters: Eulalia Solis, Eulogia Figueroa, Blasa Camacho; Anastasia Gutierrez and his brother, Ramon Gonzales.
