Evangelina Dominguez

Evangelina ” Vangie” Dominguez, 56, of Uvalde, passed away on January 5, 2026, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

She was born on August 13, 1969, in Uvalde, Texas to Evangelina (Cruz) and Adolfo Cruz, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

She is survived by her companion, Jose Guerra of Uvalde; mother, Eva Cruz and husband, Victor Cabralez of Uvalde; father, Adolfo Cruz, Jr. of Uvalde; four daughters, Jennifer Dominguez Aguero and husband, Francisco, Jessica Martinez and husband, Raul Fuentes, Andrea Salazar and husband, Jorge Alvarez, and London Flores and companion, Divany Gonzalez all of Uvalde; three sons, Juan Dominguez, Jacob Dominguez, and James Lucas Dominguez all of Uvalde; eight sisters, Mary Lou Salinas, Laura Luna, Leandra Rodriguez, Ada De La Garza, Sandra Cruz, Melissa Flores, Adela Cruz all of Uvalde, and Jessica Garcia of Oklahoma; three brothers, Adolfo Cruz, III of San Antonio; Augustine Cruz and Andres Cruz both of Uvalde; 24 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Soila Samora; paternal grandparents, Adolfo Cruz, Sr. and Maria Bermea Cruz; husband, Juan Dominguez; and two aunts, Guadalupe Castillo and Lilia Saiz.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Dominguez, Jacob Dominguez JR, James Lucas Dominguez JR, Jesse James Dominguez, Davian Dominguez, Ezra Dominguez, Jaxon Dominguez, and Jett Flores. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Abel Rigoberto Martinez, Elias Fuentes, Jehvin Fuentes, and Dominic Dominguez
