Eugenio C. Chapa

Eugenio C. Chapa, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 12, 1944, in Uvalde, Texas, to Reynaldo and Paula Chapa. 

He married Bertha Salas in February of 1966, in Uvalde, TX.

A lifelong resident of Uvalde, Eugenio began his family in the community he cherished. He was a proud father to six children: Brenda Hernandez of San Antonio, TX; Paula Miller of Laredo, TX; Eugenio Chapa Jr. of San Antonio, TX; Elizabeth Chapa Vasquez of Uvalde, TX; John Ray Chapa of Uvalde, TX; and Aaron Chapa of Uvalde, TX. He also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him deeply.

Eugenio is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Noemi Mejia, Eva Ramos, Olivia Rodriguez, Refugio Hernandez, Daniel Chapa, and Raquel Juarez. He is preceded in death by Adam Chapa, Reynaldo Chapa, and Rebecca Gonzales. He is also preceded in death by his wife Bertha Salas Chapa and his parents Reynaldo and Paula Chapa and grandchildren, Aaron Caleb Chapa Jr. and Stella Bertha Chapa. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication lives on through his family and all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Visitation will be held on May 15, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  

A funeral service will be held on May 16, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Templo Christiano, interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be Jordan Miller, Josiah Miller, Aaron Chapa, Eugene Chapa, Jr., Jeff Miller Arnold Vasquez, Christian Romo and Sebastion Chapa.  

Honorary pallbearer will be Isaiah Chapa.
