Ernesto Gomez

Ernesto Flores Gomez of Uvalde passed away on January 11, 2009 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 64. He was born on June 1, 1944 in Uvalde, Texas to Jesus and Maria Gomez. He is survived by one daughter; Melissa Guzman and husband, Jose of Elgin, Illinois; one sister; Juanita Garcia of Fresno,California; two grandchildren; Aidan and Alejandro Guzman of Elgin, Illinois; his close cousin; Elvira Menchaca of Uvalde, Texas; numerous friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Ernesto spent a major part of his adult life in Illinois where he worked for twenty years at Moline Malleable. He will be missed by his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jesus and Maria Flores Gomez; and an infant sister; Elida Gomez; and his closest cousin; Victoria Quezada. Cremation under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
