Ernestina Torres

Ernestina Talamantes Torres of Uvalde passed away on December 16, 2020 at her residence at the age of 89.  She was born on June 8, 1931 in Rule, Texas to Manuel and Julia Leyva Talamantes.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Torres of Eagle Pass, Martha T. Saucedo and husband, Adolfo, Ninfa Benavidez and husband, Reynaldo, Alma Ruiz and husband, Ruben Rodriguez all of Uvalde, Leticia T. Martinez and husband, Ronaldo of San Antonio, Eloina Garza of Uvalde; son, Ubaldo Torres, Jr. of San Antonio; sister; Guadalupe T. Martinez of San Antonio; two brothers , Enrique Talamantes of Del Rio and Salvador Talamantes of Bakersfield, California; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ubaldo Torres; son, Carlos Manuel Torres; brothers, Arturo Talamantes, Jesus Talamantes, Raul Talamentes and Rufino Talamantes; sisters, Aurora T. Lopez, Angelina T. Patiño, and Obdulia T. Vasquez.

Visitation will begin on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery

Pallbearers will be Carlos Dominguez, Manuel Garcia, Luis Adolfo Saucedo, Arnoldo Saucedo, Gabriel Hernandez, Jr. Christian Carmona, Gabriel Ruiz III, Rogelio Alvarado, Jr. and Albert Garza, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Giovanni Garcia and Manuel Ruiz.
