Edwin R. Nava

Edwin “Eddie” Nava, 66, a lifelong resident of Batesville, Texas passed away peacefully at 5:30 p.m. on December 21, 22025, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Eddie was born on June 22, 1959, in Batesville, Texas to Guadalupe and Roberta Nava. He was preceded in death by his parents whom he loved and honored deeply throughout his life.

Eddie was a devoted husband, a proud father and a pillar of strength for this family. His life was defined by love, humility, and a tireless commitment to those around him. He was known for his kind heart, steady presence and willingness to help anyone in need. Eddie believed in doing right by others, working hard and living with integrity-values his he passed onto his children and all who knew him. Eddie dedicated 16 years of service to Southwest Texas College, where he greatly enjoyed his work, before retiring.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Nava of Batesville; his children, who were his pride and joy, Liza Perez and husband, Crispin of Uvalde, Michael Nava and wife, Micaela of Batesville, Clarissa Nava and partner, Ronald Rodriguez of Uvalde; brother, Eloy Nava of Batesville; grandchildren, who he loved and bought him great joy; Jesslyn Perez, and husband, Pedro, Itzayana Perez, Myliana Perez, Emmanuel Perez all of Uvalde, Ethan Nava, Aubriella Nava of Batesville, Arianna Rodriguez, Aubree Rodriguez, and Karly Jade Rodriguez all of Uvalde; his cousin, who was more of a son, Hector Elizondo and wife, Christy of San Antonio.

Visitation will be held on December 26, 2025, at 1 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on December 27, 2025, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

The family of Edwin Nava wish to extend their heartful appreciation for prayers, love and support during this difficult time.

Pallbearers will be Hector Elizondo, Juan Medrano, Isidro Cantu, Jr., Cadence Smith,  Zeke Martinez, Daniel Rodriguez,  Roy Luna, and Jesse Prado.
