Dink Turner

Dink Turner of Uvalde passed away on March 8, 2008 in San Antonio at the age of 76. He was born on October 7, 1931 in Wellsview,Concho County, Texas to Thomas Odice and Dickie Favor Turner. He married Barbara Dell Hickman on June 10, 1950 in Brady, TX. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; five sons, Steve Turner and wife, Molly and Kim Turner and wife, Bonnie, all of Uvalde; Nick Turner and wife, Becky of Houston; Rocky Turner and wife, Cindy of Hondo; and Sheae Turner of Medina, TX; two daughters, Dana Sheedy and husband, Nolan of Uvalde; and Mitzi Whorton and husband, Mike of Spring Branch, TX; two sisters, Dickie Sue Grier of Maize, Kansas; and Patti Hart and husband, Eddy of Tuscola, TX; brother-in-law, Freddy Johnson of Brady, TX; 23 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Ross Turner; and sister, Lita Vanell Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 10:00 AM at Getty St. Church of Christ. Mr. King Burney will officiate. Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Cemetery in Brady, TX. Pallbearers will be Steve Turner; Kim Turner; Nick Turner; Rocky Turner; Sheae Turner; Mike Whorton; Nolan Sheedy; and Tommy Dan Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren.
