Delia V. Ortega

Delia V. Ortega, 81, of Uvalde, passed away August 11, 2023, at Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde.

She was born May 22, 1942, in Uvalde, Texas, to Maria (Zepeda) and Juan Luna Vasquez.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Parra and partner, Gerardo De La Garza, of Uvalde, Texas; and granddaughter, Gabriela M. Parra and partner, Steven De Maagd, of San Antonio; three sisters, Enriqueta Mariscal, Sulema Gutierrez both of Uvalde and Aurora Charles of Houston; three brothers, Rudy Vasquez of Houston, Robert Vasquez of McAllen and Raymond Vasquez of Houston.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Ortega; daughter, Brenda Ortega, sisters; Mary V. Flores and Odilia V. Lopez, and brothers; Juan Vasquez, Jr. and Ricardo Vasquez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 4 pm at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary, A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2023 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Elias Gutierrez, Elias Gutierrez Jr, Norman Mariscal, Rudy Vasquez, and Gerardo Delagarza.
