Danny R. Welch

Danny Roy Welch, 76, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away on December 3, 2024, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

He was born on June 20, 1948, in Sabinal, Texas, to Leila Jo (Copple) and Herman Welch.

On June 7, 1974, Danny married the love of his life, Barbara Johnson, in Houston, Texas. Together, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Danny's legacy of love lives on through their daughter, Krista Gail Welch, and his beloved granddaughters, Katelyn Nicole Faglie and Bethany Ann Faglie. He is also survived by three brothers: Freddy Ray Welch, Gary Don Welch and wife Alma, and Billy Mack Welch and wife Shirley, all residing in Uvalde, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Laura Welch.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will follow on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, with interment at Vance Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Waller, Wayne Whiteaker, Wayne Everett, Cody Taylor, Judge William R. Mitchell and “Boss” Little Jesse Moreno. 

Danny will be deeply missed but cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
