Daniel Arnaldo Padilla

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Daniel. He died surrounded by family and close friends. Daniel Arnaldo Padilla, 40 years old, passed on April 19, 2026, in San Antonio, TX.

He was born in Hondo on July 22, 1985, to Arnaldo L. Padilla and Sylvia M. Romero. Daniel was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched many lives with his jokes, laughter, loving heart and willingness to help others.

Daniel was raised in Uvalde and moved to San Antonio in 1997. He attended James Madison High School. He earned an associate’s degree in medical billing and coding from Career Quest and worked for a pain management office for several years. Daniel was a free spirit and always wanted to be his own boss, so he pursued other avenues. He was a jack of all trades, skilled in carpentry, landscaping, and home renovation projects.

Daniel was a man of faith who loved and worshiped God. He always wore either a rosary, cross, or a St. Benedict’s medal around his neck. He would pray before every meal and thank God every chance he got. Family was important to Daniel, and he had a unique way of bonding with his immediate and extended family. He especially loved to spend time with his nephews and niece.

Daniel went out of his way to connect with people. He never met a stranger. He loved spending time outdoors, BBQing, hunting, fishing, and dancing. He was always there when you needed him, rarely telling anyone no, even if he was tired or in pain. He deeply loved and cherished his family and friends. Heaven is a little rowdier, and laughter abounds now that Daniel is there. He may not be here physically, but he will always be present in spirit. He has left us with memories that will forever live in our hearts.

He is survived by his parents Arnaldo L. Padilla, Sylvia M. Romero, two sisters, Marisa Alcorta and husband David and Adriana Padilla-Colón and husband Cory; niece, Isabella, and 3 nephews, Noah, Matthew and Urijah, stepbrother Miguel Hernandez III and wife Cristina and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Seferino Z. and Leonor S. Padilla and, maternal grandfather Abelardo G. Romero, stepmother Cecilia H. Padilla, mother’s fiancé Francisco Cruz, aunt, and numerous uncles.
