Cleto Martinez

Cleto Martinez, Jr., 78, of San Antonio, formerly of Uvalde, Texas passed away on October 30, 2025, at Mesa Vista Health Center in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born on December 21, 1946, in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Luisa (Mendoza) and Cleto Martinez, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 9 pm with a service at 6 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

He is survived by five daughters, Ana Vasquez of Defiance, Ohio, Christina Zapata and husband, Joel of Uvalde, Veronica Fabela and husband, Jonathan, Consuelo Gonzalez, and husband, Salomon, and Monica Martinez all of San Antonio; two sons, Cleto Martinez, III and Benjamin Martinez both of San Antonio; sister, Maria Aguedita Rodriguez of Uvalde; brother, Juan Martinez of Florida; 25 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Guadalupe H. Martinez, brothers, Anselmo Martinez; sisters, Victoria Rodriguez, and Guadalupe Fernandez, grandson, Joel Zapata, Jr., and son in law, Butch Vasquez.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Fabela, Sr, Joel Zapata, Ethan Zapata, Steven Gonzalez, Benjamin Martinez, Gabriel Perez, Angel Martinez, and Jonathan Fabela, Jr.

Honorary pallbearer will be Cleto Martinez, III
