Carolyn S. Moore

Carolyn Sue Moore, 74, of Knippa, TX, passed away on August 12, 2023, after a brief battle with health complications.

Carolyn, or Sue as known best by her family and friends, was born on August 28, 1948. After graduating from McCamey High School in 1966, she met Michael Henry Moore, and they wed on September 25, 1967. Together they raised five children, Michael R. Moore, Russell D. Moore, Pennie J. Davis, Lonnie E. Moore, and Cathy S. Whitehead. As her children grew up and started families of their own, she worked for the U.S. Postal system for 20+ years until retiring in 2012. Her biggest passion was her kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren and Sue enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them and her closest friends. We will miss her greatly.

Carolyn is predeceased by her mother, Birdie Tobin and stepfather, Jim Tobin; father Jack Gibson, brother Jack Gibson; and beloved daughter-in-law Anjanette Moore. She is survived by her husband of almost 56 years Michael Moore, son Michael Moore and his wife Sulema of Sonora, TX; son Russell Moore of Sierra Blanca, TX; daughter Pennie Davis and her husband John of Devine, TX; son Lonnie Moore and wife Rebecca of Spokane, WA; daughter Cathy Whitehead and her husband Corey of Knippa, TX as well as 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

No services will take place, as Sue requested, but we do appreciate your love and support during this difficult time. As Sue’s favorite thing to receive was flowers, in lieu of cards or flowers sent to the family, the family request you chose a living loved one of your own to send flowers or a card to let them know they are thought of.
