Bobby Glen McIntosh left his earthly home on October 3, 2025, at his residence in Sabinal, Texas, at the age of 71.
Bobby was born on August 7, 1954, in Dublin, Texas, to Fred and Marie McIntosh. He began his schooling in Brackettville, Texas and in the fifth grade moved to Sabinal, where he graduated.
In 1973, Bobby married the love of his life, Pam, and the two moved to Brackettville when he accepted a position with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. It was there that he began a lifelong commitment to serving his community as a member of the Brackettville Volunteer Fire Department.
After returning to Sabinal, Bobby continued his tradition of service in many ways. He was a commissioned reserve officer for sixteen years and dedicated twenty-two years as a member of the Sabinal Volunteer Fire Department, as well as assisting Sabinal EMS. He also served on the Sabinal City Council for twelve years, the Sabinal ISD School Board for six years, and was a song leader at the Concan Church of Christ until his death.
Following his retirement from the phone company, Bobby continued his public service by seeking election as Uvalde County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2. He served honorably in that position for sixteen years.
Bobby also became a small business owner when he purchased the car wash on Highway 90 in Sabinal. He could often be found there in the early mornings or late afternoons, cleaning the bays, counting quarters, and sharing stories with anyone who stopped by.
Bobby deeply loved his family and friends and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He cherished his morning visits at R BBQ and his afternoon tea at the Dairy Queen, where he was happiest swapping stories - often the same ones a hundred times - and solving the world’s problems with his friends.
In his retirement, Bobby spent time playing golf, fishing, and travelling. He especially enjoyed following this grandkids, wherever they lead him.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pamala McIntosh; daughter, Leah Keeney of Grandview, Texas; son, Justin McIntosh and wife, Patricia, of Burleson, Texas; three grandsons, Hayden Keeney, Jackson Keeney, and Harper McIntosh; granddaughter, Allison McIntosh; and sister, Rita Hudson, and husband, Robert, of D’Hanis, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Tracey Keeney, and brothers-in-law, J.W. Stout and O’Neil Stout.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Central Christian Church in Sabinal.
Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery.
