Amaro Garcia Sr.

Amaro Garcia Maldonado, Sr., 91, of Uvalde passed away on April 7, 2024, at Amistad Nursing Home.  

He was born on March 9, 1933, in Rodriguez, Coahuila, Mexico to Jovita (Maldonado) and Susano Garcia.

He married Alma Olvido Peña in Hondo, Texas on October 13, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, of Uvalde; daughters, Rosario Garcia, Nancy Garcia and husband, Juan Castro, Adriana Garcia, Susana Garcia, Karina Garcia and husband, Francisco Villa, Perla Garcia, and Alma Garcia Potts all of Monclova, Mexico; son, Amaro Garcia, Jr. of Monclova, Mexico; two sisters, Dora Trevino and husband, Wito of Chicago; and Juanita Garcia and husband, David Barrios of Dallas;  15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Emma Garcia, Isabel Garcia, and Blanca Garcia; and brother, Susano Garcia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
