Amada De Leon Diaz peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family and friends on December 4, 2019 at the Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde at the age of 95. She was born on October 24, 1924 to Guadalupe and Rafaela (Carbajal) De Leon.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Elida Diaz of Uvalde; brothers, Leborio De Leon of Campwood, Guadalupe De Leon, Jr. of Uvalde, Raynaldo De Leon of Uvalde; sisters, Paubla Moncivais of Uvalde, Lupe Falcon of Campwood, Maria Aguero of Campwood, Yolanda Aguero of Campwood, Gloria Hernandez of Campwood; grandchildren, Lydia D. Martinez and husband, Elias of Uvalde, Annabelia D. Llanes and husband, Roy of Sabinal, Erica D. Campuzano and husband, Jesse of Crosbyton, Texas, Fatima D. Cervantez and husband, Jorge of San Antonio, Ava Diaz of Uvalde, Jesse De La Rosa and wife Angie of Whitehall, Michigan, Paul De La Rosa and companion, Vicki Schaefer Anderson of Muskegon, Michigan, Roger Diaz and wife, Irma of San Antonio, Carlos Diaz III and wife, Michelle of Sabinal, Vincent Gabriel Diaz of Uvalde; daughter in law, Rosario G. Diaz of Uvalde; 21 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Carlos Diaz Jr.; brothers, Cruz De Leon, Felix De Leon, Teodoro “Teddy” De Leon; sisters, Tomasa Mendoza, Modesta Balderas and Lucy Tobar.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Ramona Hernandez, Gloria Cisneros, Rita Ramos, Angelica Gallegos and Hilda Cahue.

Procession to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Campwood will begin at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde at 12:45 p.m.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 and Friday, December 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Campwood. Interment will follow at Campwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roy Llanes, Vincent Gabriel Diaz, Sebastian Campuzano, Gabriel Diaz, Rojelio Diaz Jr., Xavier Alvarez, Carlos Diaz IV and Nathanael Diaz.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ezekiel Llanes, Matthew Rios, Andrew Lopez, Thomas Lopez, Marcus Alexander Campuzano, Tristian Diaz, Brandon De La Rosa, Jordan De La Rosa, Steven Brown and Niko De La Rosa.
