Alma Salazar, 75, of Uvalde passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on August 2, 2025, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
Alma, a beloved mother, devoted daughter, cherished aunt, and loyal friend. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. Her heart was always open, and her love for family was evident in every moment she shared with them. Alma found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like listening to her favorite country music and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. She found solace in gardening and nurturing her plants with the same care she offered to her loved ones. Alma will be deeply missed, but her spirit will always remain in the hearts of those she loved.
She was born on September 7, 1949, in Sabinal, Texas to Alicia (Flores) and Rudolfo Alejandro.
She married Vincent Salazar, Jr., in March 1976, and had two children Vincent (Vinnie) Salazar III and Michael Salazar.
She is survived by her mother, Alicia Flores Alejandro of Uvalde; beloved husband of 49 years of Uvalde; son, Vincent (Vinnie) Salazar, III and wife, Melinda of Uvalde; two brothers, Joe Alejandro and Eugene Alejandro both of Uvalde; two grandchildren, Julian Salazar of Elgin, Illinois and Nicholas Salazar of Uvalde; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father Rudolfo Alejandro Sr., brother Rudolfo Alejandro Jr., son Michael Salazar and granddaughter Layla Salazar.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
